Kualalumpur, Malaysia
had been trying to catch some time to write about the KL visits.... and at last I got some.... one of the striking things of KL that really waved at me was contrasts... the city is fully of contrasts of many types.... and thats what I was able to discover from my first minute over there, until the last minute before departure....
a pleasant city, with a lot less chaos than a lot of other cosmopolitan cities around the world.... but its weather isn't as pleasing as it could've been.... a contrasting weather prevails everyday..... a very warm weather, frequently interrupted by some heavy rainfall.... but you just learn to live with it if go there to stay.... for a tourist like me, it was not a happy accident....
a growing city with marks of construction everywhere.... it shows the dominance of that corporate world thats driving the economy, but it couldn't really wipe off the some of the traditions that made the people who they are.... their simple imperfections tell the story of the simple people who embraced the world in a hurry....
the cultural diversity is noticeable at KL..... the Malayan, the Chinese, the Indians they all contribute to build a nation that has its own mixed identity.... lots of contrasts can be found around the city where different cultures live together peacefully.... for a travel photographer, its a real blessing.....
a fairly disciplined city, its evident that KL is governed by rule of law.... with certain imperfections, the rules are meant to be followed; and they are followed....
more-or-less a colourless city if looked above, but looked down, lot of colour variations are found... it also features the choice of a fledgling society that doesn't want to be overwhelmed by the choices of others....
the most striking aspect of a cosmopolitan society is its contrasting lifestyle.... even though this part of the globe has been progressing like anything, there's a certain bunch who don't seem to be affected by its pace.... its supposed to be expected and thats what makes a city diverse....
more to come....
