ah!!..... have I become that efficient??...... I've finished the blog in one night!!.... can't believe this myself!! :)....... my Sundarbans blog is still unfinished and now I'm writing another blog within one night??
this was a nice photowalk........ and somehow, it looked to me more like an "Iftar-walk"....... it was not just a photography trip....... we were among the many types of Iftar and sniffing our way into each and every corner of the market...... anyway, this is the link to my travel blog post:

An Old Dhaka "Iftar-walk"??
yea, once again Old Dhaka..... but this time, its a Ramadan flavour...... went to Old Dhaka for an Iftar several years back..... somehow didn't like the items there...... in fact, hated most of the things..... not sure whether we got the taste of some exceptionally bad cook.... we've always heard so much about it that it makes me think twice before criticising those........
anyways, this time round the Iftar would be accompanied by some cameras...... TTL has called their "Iftar-walk" there this time...... around half-a-century photographers have enlisted their names...... lets see what kind of chaos we can add to that usually chaotic place during the most chaotic times.....:)

Back from the Sundarbans................
it was a long, tiresome, but memorable tour........ three tours there within the span of one year seems almost too many....... but the end ultimately justifies the means...... we explored some new areas that we couldn't during our earlier visits.... we also documented changes in the fragile environment because of weather and climate change...... things that looked perfectly OK during the last visit, didn't look the same this time for sure.....
I'll go through the documentation during the week and would slowly update my blog pages........

Sundarbans..... here I come........
even that short wait seemed like a long one..... I can feel the air of the place..... the rain-soaked green of the mangrove is waving at me......... and would like to dive into that deep silence of Nature...... the nightly fear of the wild and the daytime suspense of the muddy forest...... I can't wait........

Sundarbans is calling me once again.........
even having two visits to the Sundarbans in one year (October and November of 2008) seemed no enough........ the back-to-back tours of late 2008 now look like distant stories......
three days of holidays in a row was enough for me to think about taking the challenge....... I was only concerned about the busy work schedules..... and yes, that had been a big source of concern for me in recent times....... lets see where it ends up..... if all go like clockwork, my journey begins tonight........ Ramadan is right around the corner...... and there would be no tours coming up during that time for sure........

Experiment with Color Efex Pro........
just came up with the idea of experimenting with Color Efex Pro 3.0 plugin in Photoshop CS3...... used the Silver Efex Pro 1.0 previously and was impressed by some of the offers..... now I thought I can try out the Color Efex Pro which also offered some cool options.....
I picked up some wedding photographs ("Gaye Holud" programs actually) to try out these newly found options...... this is how they turned out.......
Dynamic Skin Softener+Duplex
Nikon D50 + Nikkor AF 70-300mm f4-5.6G; no flash used; used the light from video flash gun.
Duplex
Nikon D80 + Nikkor AF 70-300mm f4-5.6G + SB600

Nikon D50 + Nikkor AF 180mm f2.8D ED + SB600

Portrait experiment with Silver Efex Pro
this is a nice software that some of my TTL fellas suggest me (notably Kamrul Hasan, the b&w expert)..... haven't used this for a while...... don't know actually how many frames I've edited using this; most of the times had been happy with minimal editing....... of late, I've started to explore the areas of editing with some portraiture...... desaturation was a pleasing experience.... now all on a sudden, I thought I can try out something in Silver Efex Pro plugin that works within the Photoshop CS3 framework......
I particularly liked two effects..... "Soft Sepia" and "Antique Plate I"
Antique Plate II

Lamisa's late night photoshoot......
was trying to experiment a bit...... but somehow time wasn't in my favour.... it seemed as if I needed to real push to do something..... and it had to be a push, since in such hectic life, nothing is supposed to happen without a push..... and there we go..... I was determined to shoot.......
